As a resource to the community, Elk Grove Animal Control provides the rental of humane cat traps for Elk Grove residents. You may rent a trap Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
At the time of rental, there is a required deposit fee of $60.00 which is refundable at the time the trap is returned. All traps must be returned back undamaged and clean in order for the deposit to be refunded.
Traps must remain in the city limits of Elk Grove. All cats trapped must be transported to the City’s contracted animal shelter facility, Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation located at 3839 Bradshaw Rd. The trapping and removal of all wildlife is prohibited unless approved by the California Department Fish and Wildlife services.
Traps may be rented through the City of Elk Grove’s Cashier’s department located at 8401 Laguna Palms Way. Any questions, please contact animal control staff at 916-687-3042.
