Landscaping and Pedestrian Trails

Consistent with the approved Civic Center master plan, the City has initiated the schematic design process for the development of the southern portion of the Civic Center site. This area will be mostly passive park space and include habitat restoration of wetlands, native grasslands and preservation and expansion of the native oak forest. Site amenities may include a network of trails, benches, picnic tables, wetland area overlooks, open meadow, agricultural elements, outdoor exercise equipment, play equipment, interpretive signs, etc. Community meetings are currently underway to gather input on proposed concept drawings and site amenities. The schematic design is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2018. Final design and construction is dependent on funding, but may begin as early as 2019/20.
