Elk Grove and Whitehouse Creek Trail Rehabilitation

Elk Grove and Whitehouse Creek Trail Rehabilitation

Posted: 02/22/2016

The Public Works Department will embark on a trail rehabilitation project along Elk Grove and Whitehouse Creek Trails beginning next Monday, February 29th, weather permitting. To facilitate construction and for safety reasons, the trail segment will be closed to the public during construction.

The project will provide new pavement and rebuild the shoulder along the east side of the Elk Grove Creek Trail from Laguna Springs Drive to Laguna Boulevard and along Whitehouse Creek Trail from Springhurst Drive (near Mix Park) to Spring Azure Way (MacDonald Park).  The Project will also provide ADA improvements at the Laguna Springs Drive bridge and a new crosswalk with a rapid flashing beacon at Sheldon Creek Drive. The improvements will extend the useful life of the trails, provide a smoother surface with improved access and safety for trail users. Construction is expected to be completed at the end of March.
