Traffic Advisory: Oversized Delivery for EchoWater Project Scheduled Thursday Night

Posted: 12/13/2016

Elk Grove Public Works and Police Department staff are coordinating with contractors for the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (Regional San) and the California Highway Patrol to facilitate the escorted transport of oversized equipment to the wastewater treatment plant on Dwight Road between the hours of 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15 and 6:30 a.m. December 16. Traffic along Calvine Road, Franklin Boulevard, Laguna Boulevard and Dwight Road will be affected by detours and delays during these hours.

The delivery supports continued construction associated with the EchoWater Project, a $1.6 billion project to meet strict new regulations for treated wastewater discharged into the Sacramento River. Once completed, the EchoWater Project will improve water quality in the Sacramento River, help protect the Delta, and expand opportunities for recycled water use. Completion is expected by 2023.
