City to Host Budget Town Hall Meetings and Online Discussion Forum

How do you want the City to allocate limited financial resources in the coming fiscal year? What services are most important to you? Communicate your priorities to the City during in-person and virtual Budget Town Hall meetings in January and February.

In person Budget Town Hall meetings are scheduled to take place in City Hall Council Chambers at 8400 Laguna Palms Way from 6-8 pm on Monday January 23 and February 6. Can’t make it to a meeting? Tune into the City’s Facebook page (City of Elk Grove-City Hall) for a Facebook live session on January 24 at 10 am or February 7 at 5 pm.

These meetings will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about the budgeting process and weigh in on City programs, policies, and services that determine the City’s spending plans and priorities. A short presentation on the city’s budget and service priorities will be followed by question and answer sessions during each meeting.

Residents can also provide their feedback any time through the City’s new online discussion forum called Open City Hall. Take the $500 Budget Challenge and share how you would allocate the city’s finances to meet our community needs. A link to the forum can be found on the City’s website at elkgrovecity.org/budget.

For questions or more information about the Budget Town Hall sessions or the $500 Budget Challenge, contact Elk Grove’s Budget Manager, Andrew Keys, at (916) 478-2273 or akeys@elkgrovecity.org.
