Elk Grove, Calif. -- High school marching bands from throughout northern California will
converge on Elk Grove streets and school sites this Saturday to compete in the 6th annual
Franklin High School Invitational Band Review. To accommodate the event, road closures and
alternative routes around the event have been set up between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and
3:00 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly.
Street Closures for Saturday, October 14:
- Franklin High Road between Whitelock Parkway and Coop Drive will be closed.
- McLean Drive, Jefjen Way, and Clairina Way will be closed at their intersection with Franklin High Road
Alternative Routes: Whitelock Parkway will remain open for motorists travelling east and westbound during the event.
The Franklin High School Invitational Band Review is the primary fundraising event for the Franklin High School band program. The City of Elk Grove is among the major event sponsors.
An estimated 4,500 students and their families will attend the parade and field exercises scheduled Saturday at Franklin High School and Toby Johnson Middle School. Cost to attend the field show is $10 per person. For more information, call (916) 714-8150.
