Kammerer Road Extension

Kammerer Road within the City of Elk Grove and south Sacramento County currently exists only between Bruceville Road and Lent Ranch Parkway.  The Kammerer Road Extension project proposes to extend Kammerer Road west of Bruceville Road to a connection with the I-5/Hood Franklin Interchange.  The project will also improve existing Kammerer Road east of Bruceville to Lent Ranch Parkway.  The project is currently in the environmental analysis phase.

The Kammerer Road Extension project is also known as Segment A1 and A2 of the Capital SouthEast Connector  project (http://www.connectorjpa.net/) which will provide a new 34-mile expressway link between Interstate 5 and Highway 50 through the southern area of Sacramento County into El Dorado County.  The Connector Project is managed by the Capital SouthEast Connector Joint Powers Authority (Connector JPA) and includes representation from the cities of Elk Grove, Folsom and Rancho Cordova, and El Dorado and Sacramento Counties.

Since the Kammerer Road project is a portion of the Connector Project, the Connector JPA is a partner in the development of the Kammerer Road project.  The City and the Connector JPA have entered into a Memorandum Of Understanding delegating the Connector JPA as the implementing agency for the environmental phase of the Kammerer Road Extension project.    For more information on the environmental phase of the project including current status and project schedule, please visit the Connector JPA’s website:  http://www.connectorjpa.net
