Sheldon & Bradshaw – Bridge/Intersection Project

City Council To Decide the Preferred Alternative

The City Council at an upcoming meeting, scheduled for March 9th, will decide which alternative (signal or roundabout) will be advanced to final design.  This will be the public hearing for the environmental document and  public comments will be accepted during the public hearing in advance of the Council’s decision on the preferred alternative.  The staff report for the City Council Meeting is available and you can download a copy of the staff report here.

March 9th, 2016 City Council Decisions

At the 3/9/2016 City Council meeting, the Council selected the roundabout as the preferred alternative to be advanced to final design.  Council also approved a 6-week full closure of the intersection during construction.  This closure will occur in the summer months when most schools are not in session.

Project Overview

Improvements to the intersection of Sheldon Road and Bradshaw Road are planned to 1) replace the existing bridge under the intersection which currently overtops in the 100 year flood event and 2) threshold values for increased traffic have been met, per the process outlined in the Rural Road Improvement Policy and Standards.
