Annual Pavement Maintenance Projects

Each year, the City performs capital pavement maintenance on various City streets.  These annual pavement maintenance projects are intended to extend the life of the pavement and avoid more costly repair or replacement of streets. The pavement maintenance that is typically done each year includes asphalt slurry seal and asphalt overlay. 

Slurry and overlay activities require temporary full street closures. During the temporary closures residents will need to park their vehicles on adjacent streets until the roads are reopened to traffic. Barricades with “No Parking” signs will be placed on affected streets 48 hours in advance of the street closures. Residents on streets affected by the work will also receive door hanger notices not less than 3 days in advance of the scheduled operations. Preparation activities including crack sealing and replacement of damaged pavement may begin as early as 3-4 weeks in advance of slurry seal and or overlay operations. Pavement repair is most effective if done when outside temperatures are warmer. Therefore, the City prefers to perform the work between April and October.
