Lost a Pet?

Contact the City’s Animal Control to report a lost pet and check if your pet is on-board our truck.

Contact area shelters to see if your pet has been brought to one of their facilities:

City of Sacramento Front Street Shelter
Sacramento Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA)

Get the word out!  Don’t assume your pet will find their way home. Create a flyer and post them around the neighborhood. (Keep it simple, use bold letters to make it easy to read.)

Include:

-current photo (if available)

-basic description (i.e. striped grey and black short-haired cat)

-number to call

Leave flyers at local veterinarians, pet related stores, share on social media sites like Facebook, Elk Grove Pets Lost and Found, NextDoor and Craigslist.

Don’t give up! 

Found a Pet?

Contact the City’s Animal Control to report a found pet, we may have been contacted by its owner.

If you’re willing to hold the animal, our staff will take your contact information and information about the animal and share it with our field officers.

Contact area shelters to complete a “Found Report.” They may have heard from their owner.

Take the animal to a local veterinarian or allow one of our officers to come out to scan the pet for a microchip.
