The City is considering development of a new Multi-Sport Park complex to support area long-field sports (e.g., soccer, rugby, lacrosse), including training and tournament play. As currently envisioned, the facility may include the following components:
- 16 Multi-sport fields
- 12 full-size soccer (80x120 yards) grass
- 4 training fields (80x50 yards) grass and synthetic
- Field lighting
- Playground, Running path and par-course
- Entry feature and landscaping throughout
- Restrooms
The City currently owns a site on the south side of Grant Line Road at Waterman Road which could support this project. However, in order to develop the site the City must first seek inclusion of the property in its Sphere of Influence and then annex the property as it is currently in Sacramento County’s jurisdiction; both actions require approval from the Sacramento Local Agency Formation Commission, or LAFCo.
More information about the project is available below.
