Traffic Alert: Southbound Franklin Boulevard Closed for Repairs

Traffic Alert: Southbound Franklin Boulevard Closed for Repairs

Posted: 03/01/2017

3/6/2017 UPDATE: Weather has generated some delays to the repair schedule, however, paving work is now expected to be completed on Wednesday and the road will re-open following completion of the paving work.

3/4/2017 UPDATE: Asphalt removal has been completed in the area where settling has occurred. Public Works crews are working in collaboration with SMUD to inspect the area before repaving the roadway. Weather permitting, work will continue through the weekend with an estimated reopening on Tuesday night, March 7.  ###

Elk Grove Public Works crews have closed southbound Franklin Boulevard between Elk Grove Boulevard and Whitelock Parkway to perform emergency roadway repairs.

Pavement settling along approximately 75 feet of the number one and two southbound lanes, most likely the result of recent storms, has necessitated the closure. There is no estimated time of reopening. Northbound lanes will remain open.

Motorists are advised to use Bruceville Road as an alternative southbound route during the closure.
