Elk Grove’s affordability, safety, and quality of life amenities have once again placed it among the top cities in the country for young people looking to buy a home and raise a family.

In a study released last week by LendEDU, an online financial resource site, Elk Grove ranked 18th best city in the country to start a family.

The study evaluated 350 of the most populated cities in the United States across four parameters, including education quality, cost of first home purchase, safety, and percentage of young families in the population. Of the 300 cities ranked, Elk Grove was one of only two California cities within the top 20. Other cities in the Sacramento region to place were Roseville (43) and Sacramento (211).

In January, a study commissioned by SmartAsset ranked Elk Grove second in the country for millennial homebuyers. With nearly 100 parks, an award-winning school system, and low crime rates, Elk Grove is a great place to live, start, and raise a family. The median value of a home in Elk Grove is $350,300.
