Who are we? Elk Grove residents are being asked to identify what makes Elk Grove special and unique as part of a community-wide survey launched this week at www.brandelkgrove.com.
The survey is part of a branding research project undertaken by the City of Elk Grove, Visit Elk Grove and the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce in partnership with North Star Destination Strategies to develop a defining community “brand” for marketing Elk Grove to future visitors, residents and businesses.
“One of the biggest challenges to securing the companies, retailers, and quality of life amenities we want in Elk Grove is the lack of a shared community identity or ‘brand.’ Such a brand can be used to attract the jobs and services our residents want and need,” said Elk Grove Economic Development Director, Darrell Doan. “Getting input from as many residents as possible through the survey is critical to the success of this project and our efforts to promote Elk Grove to those beyond the city limits with the capital and initiative to invest here.”
North Star developed a customized community-wide online survey to determine Elk Grove’s strengths, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities. All who live and work in Elk Grove are invited and encouraged to participate in the survey. Surveys can be completed online and submitted electronically or printed surveys can be obtained at City Hall and the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce. Surveys must be completed and submitted by March 25.
“At the heart of Elk Grove’s brand will be its competitive differentiator,” says North Star CEO Don McEachern. “In other words, we want to find the attributes that make the community stand out in the marketplace. And one of the best places to find the answer to that is in the hearts and minds of the people who call Elk Grove home.”
Visit www.brandelkgrove.com by March 25 to participate in the community survey and sign up to receive information and progress updates on Elk Grove’s branding initiative.
