How to Schedule: Simply call Republic Services at (916) 635-2500.

Pile Size: A pile measuring 7' x 6' x 4' is the maximum amount of material that will be accepted. This is equal to five cubic yards of material, which is about the size of a pick-up truck bed filled even with the top of the cab. If you think you might have more than the maximum, please notify Republic Services when you schedule your pickup. Charges for excess materials are as follows: Link to view rates

Residents will be told they need to immediately remove the extra material at the curbside following their pickup.

Self Haul

All Elk Grove residents are entitled to self-haul one load of material to the Elder Creek Transfer Station once per year at no cost.

What can you take to the transfer station?  Please refer to the acceptable / unacceptable item list for curbside bulk waste pickups.

Note: Hazardous materials are not accepted at the transfer station. Visit our Special Waste Collection Center to dispose of these items.

On-call pick-up of Excess Refuse and Bulky Waste

Republic Services can schedule a pickup (fees applicable) of excess refuse and bulky waste should residents need an additional pickup beyond the three free per year available by way of the Neighborhood Cleanup Program. Within two days of the request, Republic Services will collect the material placed at the curb.  The fee for this service is restricted to 5 cubic yards of material or a pile measuring 7' x 6' x 4' is the maximum amount of material that will be accepted.
