Waterman Rd. Rehab & Bike Lanes/Bond to Sheldon

Project Overview

Roadway widening and pavement reconstruction improvements were completed in October on Waterman Road between Bond Road and Sheldon Road.  The project widened the road, added shoulders striped for Class 2 bike lanes and corrected drainage deficiencies.  The improvements are consistent with the City's Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Trails Master Plan and a portion of the improvements are within the City's Rural Roads Boundary and as such, the roadway was reconstructed to meet the Rural Roads Standards.

Construction is Complete!!

Waterman before and after At the 10/11/2017 City Council meeting, the Council approved the resident’s preference for a full closure of the roadway during pavement reconstruction.  At the 5/23/18 City Council Meeting, the Council awarded the construction contract to Granite Construction Company.  Construction started July 26,2018 and the closure began in September 2018 and was complete in October 2018, ahead of schedule.   In order to minimize disruptions to traffic in the surrounding areas, the full closure for this Project was coordinated with the Sheldon & Bradshaw/Intersection Project which opened to traffic in August.  Construction for this Project was completed ahead of schedule and $1.2 Million under budget.
