Project Description
This project is included in theCity's Capital Improvements Program(WFC034) and would consist of a 45,000 to 60,000 square foot library and a 20,000 to 30,000 square foot theater accommodating 300 to 500 fixed seats. The Library is envisioned to include spaces for children, teens, families, quiet reading, technology, multi-use programming, and group study areas.
This project is located atDistrict56, a city property situated south of Civic Center Drive and East of Big Horn Blvd.

Funding
The estimated cost for design and construction of the Library and Cultural Arts Center Project ranges from $82,000,000 to $113,000,000 (in 2018 dollars) depending upon the program size and potential enhancements. Funding for construction of this facility has not been secured; however, some funds are collected by the City through the Capital Facilities Fee, a fair-share fee on new development.
Impact to Annual Operating Budget
This project would generate annual operating expenses for staffing, utilities, and general operations. These estimated operating costs will be calculated during the design development process.
Next Steps
A schematic design for the Library would be the next step in advancing development of this project. No date has been identified to begin this work.
