1st Saturday Art Reception, “A Celebration of Art 2023”
This art competition features All EGUSD art students in grades 9-12 to participate. It encouraged them to see art that challenges the traditional artistic expression, surprises us to make us think and articulates emotions in new and exciting ways. Opening reception, February 4 from 4-7pm, at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center, 9683 Elk Grove-Florin Rd., Elk Grove 95624. Show continues through 2-23-2023, Wed-Sat 11am-4pm. Free to the public. This show was judged by Marcelle Wiggins, a Sacramento based artist who received a Master of Fine Arts Degree in painting from San Francisco Art Institute. She has lectured and taught a variety of studio art courses since 1986 at San Francisco Art Institute, Yuba Community College, Sierra College, Cosumnes River College, and California State University Sacramento. She is currently teaching Drawing and Color theory at Cosumnes River College.
