Elk Grove PD To Wear Special Patch To Honor Their Own And To Raise Awareness

Posted:12/30/2022

The Elk Grove Police Department will wear a special patch to raise awareness of the impact of impaired driving, and to remember Officer Ty Lenehan.

In the morning of January 21, 2022, the Lenehan family, all of us here at the Elk Grove Police Department, and the Elk Grove community were affected when an impaired driver struck and killed Officer Ty Lenehan on Highway 99.

Officer Lenehan's honorable service will never be forgotten. His positive attitude, infectious smile, and bright personality will forever be missed.

Together, the Elk Grove Police Department and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) designed the Elk Grove Police Department DUI Awareness patch to remember Ty and recognize the impact driving impaired has on its victims. Throughout the month of January, you may see the men and women of the Elk Grove Police Department wearing the special patches.

These special patches are not available for purchase by the public.
