Fatal Collision On West Stockton Boulevard Under Investigation

Officers from responded to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision near the intersection of West Stockton Boulevard and Whitelock Parkway on October 28, 2024, shortly after 10 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located a man who had sustained critical injuries in the collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on West Stockton Boulevard struck the pedestrian, a 55-year-old man, who was also walking northbound in the northbound lane. 

The driver involved initially left the scene but was followed by a witness and subsequently pulled over a short distance away. Approximately 30 minutes later, the driver returned to the scene, where they remained and fully cooperated with the investigation.

Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office will make identification of the deceased.
