Fatal Single Vehicle, Collision On Laguna Boulevard

ELK GROVE, CA – On November 2, 2022, at approximately 8:54 pm., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a single vehicle collision on Laguna Boulevard, just east of Laguna Main Street.  

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 2016 Lexus sedan had struck a tree in the center median. The driver, a 35-year-old woman, was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the driver deceased. Identification of the deceased will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.  

Based on information obtained during the preliminary investigation, traffic investigators have determined that the driver of the Lexus was traveling eastbound on Laguna Boulevard just east of Laguna Main Street when the vehicle struck the tree in the center median. The cause of the collision is under investigation 

Although the collision is under investigation, it appears that speed may have been a contributing factor to the collision.  Anyone with information regarding this fatal traffic collision is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8147.
