Kammerer Road Reconstruction Begins June 7

Work to expand Kammerer Road between Bruceville Road and Lent Ranch Parkway is set to begin on Monday, June 7. This work is part of theCapital Southeast Connector Expresswayproject that will eventually link Interstate 5 and Highway 99 south of Elk Grove.

Affected Area:Kammerer Road will be closed to through traffic between Bruceville Road and Lent Ranch Parkway once construction starts through November 2021. Emergency, delivery, and local access will be maintained.
Project Description: Construction work will generate improvements along this stretch of roadway that will include:

•A median and one travel lane and shoulder in each direction; and
•New stop-sign controlled intersections at Lotz Parkway, McMillan Road/future Big Horn Boulevard, Rau Road and Bruceville Road; and
•Drainage improvements including ditches, storm pipes, two new detention basins and modifications to an existing detention basin

Driver Impacts:Traffic traveling from east to west will be detoured north along Promenade Parkway and Stockton Boulevard, then west on Whitelock Parkway, south on Big Horn Boulevard, and west on Bilby Road.

Traffic traveling from west to east will be detoured east on Bilby Road, north on Big Horn Boulevard, east on Whitelock Parkway and south along Stockton Boulevard and Promenade Parkway.



Due to increased detour traffic, the current three-way stop sign at W. Stockton Blvd. and Whitelock Parkway will be changed to a temporary traffic signal. This change will improve traffic flows, but drivers should plan for increased travel times.

This $13 million project is funded with SB-1 Local Partnership Program state funding, Elk Grove Roadway Fees, and Community Facilities District - East Franklin 2002-1 fees. Construction is expected to be completed in December 2021.
