Suspect Arrested in Wells Fargo Bank Robbery

ELK GROVE, CA - Officers responded to a report of a bank robbery on March 16, 2021 at about 1:16 p.m. at the Wells Fargo, 5120 Laguna Boulevard. Through video surveillance, a photo of the suspect was obtained and circulated via social media. Later that same evening, an alert community member contacted law enforcement and advised they believed the subject pictured was currently inside a business in the 6000 block of Stockton Boulevard. Video surveillance confirmed the subject seen in the business was the suspect sought in the bank robbery, however, he was no longer on scene.

At about 2:00 a.m. on March 17, 2021, information was received that the subject returned to the business. Officers arrived on scene and, with assistance from the Sacramento Police Department, were able to contact 35-year-old Sacramento resident, Jacob Garcia. Garcia was taken into custody and later booked into the main jail on the charge of robbery, PC 211.
