Elk Grove, CA – Cosumnes Community Services District and the City of Elk Grove will host a grand opening celebration for Entrican Park on Thursday, August 4 at 6:00 p.m. The community is invited to attend and celebrate Elk Grove’s 101st play space.
The park is named for two lifelong Elk Grove residents, Jim and Annaclare Saner Entrican, whose leadership and commitment to preserving the past has greatly enriched and impacted the community of Elk Grove.
Jim and Annaclare’s volunteerism is legendary, having served for the Elk Grove Historical Society, Elk Grove Fine Arts Center, Rhoads School Board, Strauss Festival, and Native Sons and Native Daughters of the Golden West, to name a few. Their contributions were recognized in 2014 when they were named Volunteers of the Year by the Elk Grove Citizen.
The park named in the Entricans honor is 5.25 acres and features a musical theme inspired by the street names chosen for the Sterling Meadows subdivision including Upbeat, Allegra, Dynamic and Ensemble. The park design incorporates several musical instruments, two large play areas, and a large picnic area with shade shelter. The sand volleyball court, adult fitness station, and half-court basketball round out the opportunities for outdoor exercise.
Entrican Park is located at 10500 Allegra Drive, near Kammerer Family Park, adding vital park space to the growing area of southeast Elk Grove.
Entrican Park is the 101st park owned and operated by the Cosumnes CSD in Elk Grove and is one of 10 parks in the Laguna Ridge area developed through a partnership with the Cosumnes CSD and City of Elk Grove.
