Online Application Period Opening for City Grant Programs

Posted:01/09/2025

The online application period for three City grant programs supporting local nonprofit organizations will open this Friday, January 10, for funding allocated in next fiscal year (FY 2025-26). Access the applications.

Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and Community Service Grants (CSG) offer funding for public service activities, housing programs, and public facility improvements. The CDBG program, supported by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, funds housing and community development activities that primarily assist low- and moderate-income persons. Since 2003, the City has used CDBG funds to assist community-based organizations with financing that allowed them to provide a range of new and expanded social services to target-income residents. Services provided included senior meals, case management, youth services, landlord/tenant and fair housing counseling, accessibility improvements, and emergency and transitional housing, among other activities.

The CSG program is a local grant program that funds a variety of public service activities and art programs serving Elk Grove residents. Funding from this program has provided emergency food distribution, services for residents experiencing homelessness, staffing support for senior and youth programs, emergency housing for victims of domestic violence, and other activities.

CDBG and CSG grant applications will be due on February 11.

Event Sponsorship Grants are available for organizations that planning special events between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026 that benefit the Elk Grove community. This program provides assistance through direct funding, City facility use, in-kind services, or a combination of these options. Event Sponsorship Grant applications will be due February 21
