Below are some helpful hints for safe use of the trails network:

• Travel with a companion for safety.
• Be prepared for the occasional encounter with wildlife on trails (snakes, skunks, raccoons, etc.).
• Keep your pets on a leash at all times and pick up after your pets.
• Please dispose of all litter in designated garbage cans.
• Please stay on pathways so as not to damage natural habitats and waterways.
• Stay to the right of the center stripe or right side of the trail and always yield the right of way.
• Cyclists should travel in a single file and at a controlled speed (15 mph max).  Please be cautious of oncoming pedestrians especially at underpasses, bridges, and sharp or blind corners.
• Be aware of the challenges during adverse weather conditions.  Rain, leaves, and mud may make the trail slick.
• Reduce speed before entering blind curves and stop at all street crossings.
• Use lights front and rear when traveling during hours of limited light.
• Be aware of closed access gates or temporary signage noting “Trail Closed”.  Some trails along creeks may be prone to flooding during high flows and will be closed for safety during these periods.  Trails also serve as creek and channel maintenance access roads and will be closed for safety when maintenance activities are being performed.
