About the Operations and Maintenance Division
The Elk Grove Operations and Maintenance Division is responsible for maintaining streets, bike lanes, multi-use trails, traffic signs and pavement markings, sidewalk, curb and gutter, traffic signals, street lights, storm drain system, creeks and channels, roadside ditches, median and frontage landscaping, and graffiti on public property.
The Division is on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and will respond immediately to high priority or emergency calls.

Typical division activities include:
- Pot hole patching and pavement repairs
- Roadside litter pickup
- Traffic signal maintenance
- Street light maintenance
- Traffic control support for community events as well as Police and Fire emergencies
- Lower Level Hazardous materials spills and cleanup
- Street sweeping
- Traffic signs and pavement markings maintenance
- Median and frontage landscape
- Sidewalk, curb, and gutter maintenance
- Roadside weed abatement
- Roadside ditches
- Creeks, channels, and underground storm drain system
- Graffiti abatement

Issues related to public safety should be reported directly to the Elk Grove Police Non-Emergency Line at (916) 714-5115 or if an emergency call 911.
